WHAT IS PONDER GOODS?

 

Ponder Goods is a South African online store focused on waste-conscious goods with a minimalist aesthetic and plastic free shipping. We offer a variety of goods that you need to live a low waste lifestyle.

 

 

WHY WASTE-CONSCIOUS?

 

Treating the planet with respect is high on our priority list. We feel that taking responsibility to take some steps to take care of it is within everyone’s reach. We realise that going zero waste is a daunting task and therefore we promote a mindful approach to purchases.

 

 

WHERE DO YOU SHIP TO?

 

Currently, we ship to South African addresses only and on special request to the member countries of the Southern African Customs Unions (SACU), which are Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland.

 

If you are based in other countries of Southern Africa and just have to have something, the best is to email us at shop@pondergoods.co.za and we’ll see if we can make a plan. Please just know that it will involve additional shipping costs and customs duties.

 

 

HOW DO YOUR PRODUCTS COMPARE IN PRICE?

 

We select products known for their quality and durability. Our products are meant to be affordable. We also specifically select products that can last decades or can responsibly be disposed of. These types of products sometimes come with a higher price tag. If a product is listed as in stock, it is in our possession, therefore all relevant duties and VAT have been paid and you only need to pay for domestic shipping.

 

 

HOW MUCH DOES SHIPPING COST?

 

Ponder Goods makes use of MDS Collivery and we also offer Pargo’s services as a more affordable alternative. Your shipping fee is calculated fairly and precisely by weight, dimension and delivery location. Please note that if you are not located in major centres your delivery fee will significantly increase. For exactly this reason we have partnered with Pargo. Please note that Pargo delivery can take up to 7 days in more remote areas. With all our delivery options you will receive delivery updates for your delivery. Local pickup can be arranged. Please note that we are based in Pretoria and we’ll have to agree on a convenient time for both parties.

 

 

HOW ARE PAYMENTS PROCESSED AND CONFIRMED?

 

To purchase items on Ponder Goods you can add products to your cart and pay on checkout with VISA or Mastercard or Instant EFT (using the PayFast payment portal). Once your order is placed, you will receive an email confirming the order and the billing details of the order. The order acceptance will occur when the funds have been received. Please read the terms and conditions before placing any orders on Ponder Goods.

 

 

WHAT DOES PRICING INCLUDE?

 

Prices shown on Ponder Goods are in South African Rands (ZAR) for the product. Shipping or delivery charges are calculated based on your address and the package weight.

 

We make every effort to ensure that the prices and availability shown on Ponder Goods are current, however, due to market variations, prices and availability of products will occasionally change. The price listed on Ponder Goods is the price that you will be charged at the time of ordering.

 

The shopping portal monitors stock availability on Ponder Good. If for some reason, the last item is purchased simultaneously, or if there was a mistake, we will contact you and give you the opportunity to place a pre-order or cancel it altogether.

 

 

ARE YOUR PAYMENTS SECURE?

 

Our online store’s shopping cart is hosted by Woocommerce which includes an SSL certificate. We use PayFast for credit card transactions and Instant EFT transactions. PayFast is also PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant and you can read more about their security protocols here.

 

 

DO YOU ACCEPT PAYPAL PAYMENTS?

 

Unfortunately, PayPal does not support South African Rand (ZAR) as a currency to transact in. When PayPal does offer transactions in South African Rand we would love to add this service.

 

 

IS MY PERSONAL INFORMATION PRIVATE?

 

All personal contact information transmitted to us will not be shared, sold or solicited in any way to anyone else. We will include your email address in our mailing list for regular updates, from which you can unsubscribe at checkout, or at any time when receiving an email update. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information.

 

 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SHIP MY ORDER?

 

Please note, orders will arrive in 4-10 business days. You should receive an email order notification with a tracking number to track your shipment.

 

 

WHAT IS YOUR RETURNS AND EXCHANGES POLICY?

 

Should you change your mind about the product you bought, Ponder Goods allows you to return the product for any reason within 7 days of having received it for Exchange or Store Credit only.

 

Refunds will not be considered unless the product was delivered in damaged form. You are advised to open the package and check the contents but the product must be returned in brand new, unused condition. All original packaging and labels will have to be returned with the product, without them having been tampered with.

 

We, unfortunately, do not accept any returned goods without prior written communication and valid Return Authorisation.

 

Please note that shipping cost and taxes are not refundable. Ponder Goods is not responsible for any damage sustained during return shipping.

 

As Buyer, you assume full responsibility for the condition of the returned item and all return shipping fees as well as any other expenses incurred to return the item to Ponder Goods until it reaches us. Please send us the tracking number so that it can be easily tracked.

 

All Sale Items are FINAL sale. No returns or exchanges will be given on Sale items.

 

 

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I RECEIVE DAMAGED GOODS?

 

We pack our packages very carefully, but in case of damaged products upon shipments, please claim within 7 days of package arrival. Please inspect your purchases immediately upon receipt as no refund or insurance claims can be made after 7 days.

 

Please take a photo of the original damaged products so that we can contact our shipping carrier if needed.

 

Once the damage or error on our part is confirmed we will make a full refund for you plus all shipping costs.

 

Please note that a large percentage of Ponder Goods’ items are from natural materials such as steel, wood, glass and these may have natural inconsistencies in grain or pattern which are very much appreciated.

 

 

HOW DO I USE A GIFT CARD?

 

You will be emailed a unique code when a gift voucher has been purchased for you. In the payment options select “Use Gift Voucher to check out”. On the next page BELOW the coupon code box is a gift voucher box – enter your code here and the amount of your voucher will be deducted from your total purchase amount.
